Dr. Looysen grew up on a farm near Carrington, ND where her love for animals began. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from North Dakota State University and a degree as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master’s Degree in Veterinary Pathology from Kansas State University. Dr. Looysen has been working in Jamestown since graduating and started Country Acres Veterinary Clinic in 1994. She is married to Dr. Steve Looysen, who is an optometrist. They have 2 sons, Tyler, a medical resident in Ophthalmology in Detriot, MI and Alex, who is attending Midwestern University College of Optometry. Dr. Looysen enjoys the outdoors especially hiking and snowshoeing. Her pets include a golden retriever, 4 cats, and 7 horses.
Elizabeth Sherfy is a Veterinary Assistant with Country Acres Veterinary Clinic, starting in November 2009. Elizabeth worked at an emergency veterinary clinic before moving to Jamestown in 2001. Elizabeth and her husband, Mark, have 3 children: Jacob, Braden and Karla. "Tali", a German Shorthair pointer and "Kiwi", a cat, are their furry family members. Elizabeth enjoys gardening, hiking and snowshoeing.

Kelsie joined Country Acres Veterinary Clinic as a receptionist in March 2020. She has been in the Jamestown area her whole life. Kelsie and her husband, (Kyle) have three kids, Ella, Jaxson, and Carter. She currently is attending Rasmussen College studying for an associates degree in Accounting. Her passions include animals, technology, & all things numbers. When she isn't at the clinic, she usually can be spotted at the local coffee shops or outdoors with her family. Her hobbies are improving her technology & financing skills, graphic design, & everything outdoors.
